Derby to Marble Bar

The race is on to get out of northern Australia. In this video report we ride from Derby to Marble Bar, from the Kimberley to the East Pilbara.

Each week that ticks past means hotter temperatures as we approach the beginning of the wet season in the tropics. They call it the build up and we’ll just avoid it as we head fast over the next few weeks. Mind you, Marble Bar is famous for being the hottest town in Australia so we’re not safe yet! The temperatures have been sneaking into the high 30s, which is right at the limit of what we can do with the kids.

In this update you’ll briefly meet a young cattle station owner Annabelle Coppin from Yarrie Station and a highly entertaining herpetologist named Brian Bush. They both share a passion for the Pilbara. We count ourselves as fans of the area now too.

Watch the video on Vimeo or YouTube to see how it went. Or see our progress on our Google Map.
